Ministerial sectors review report on transit of gold through Khartoum Airport
Khartoum, March 16 (SUNA) - The ministerial sectors reviewed in their meeting today, chaired by Dr. Jibril Ibrahim, the Minister of Finance and Economic Planning, a report on the transit of gold through Khartoum Airport.
The meeting directed the need to tighten the procedures for importing and exporting gold through the transit and working to implement an electronic system for gold in transit under the Customs umbrella and linking it to the air freight systems at Khartoum International Airport.
The meeting also underscored importance of using modern technology and advanced detection devices to curb smuggling of gold through airports, besides speeding up establishment of the gold bourse to control buying, selling and exporting of gold and linking its prices to the global market.
