Algerian Sonatrach Oil Company expresses desire to invest in Sudan

Khartoum, Nov 8 (SUNA) -The Minister of Energy and Petroleum, Eng. Mohamed Abdalla Mahmoud, has welcomed desire of Algerian Sonatrach oil company to invest in the field of petroleum and gas in Sudan.

This came when the Minister met today in Khartoum with the company’s delegation in the presence of the Algerian Ambassador to Khartoum.

Eng. Mahmoud expressed the readiness of the Sudanese side to provide all possible opportunities of investment in oil exploration and development of oil and gas fields.

The Minister affirmed that the entry of Sonatrach Company would enhance the existing cooperation between the two countries and benefiting from exchanging information and experiences in the field of petroleum and gas agreements and contracts; the technical studies; assessment of petroleum and gas reserve; the modern technologies besides oil refinery training, petrochemicals, and projects management.

The Algerian Ambassador, on his part, expressed his pleasure for the technical meetings which he said would enhance and develop the bilateral cooperation between the two countries and benefiting from the joint investment opportunities and technical cooperation in the field of petroleum and gas industry.
