September 19, 2021

Khartoum, Sept. 18 (SUNA) - Minister of Cabinet Affairs Engineer Khalid Omer Yusuf has affirmed the transitional government's concern with the Sudanese expatriates and migrants, saying that the government has a new ambitious vision to achieve the desires and aspirations of the Sudanese working abroad.

Addressing the consultative forum on housing and investments of Sudanese working abroad today, the Minister of Cabinet Affairs indicated that there are huge opportunities that will be available for the expatriates for investment and housing.

He noted that the government has new policies to restore confidence between the Secretariat of the Sudanese Working Abroad (SSWA) and the expatriates to find solutions to all their issues, adding that after the December Revolution, the production process increased significantly in the agricultural and animal sectors, and that the wheat crop for two seasons achieved high productivity, and the government is working to better exploit and invest the available resources.

The Minister reviewed the contributions and successes that have been realized by the Sudanese in the Diaspora, which Sudan should benefit from.

For his part, Secretary-General of SSWA Makin Hamid Tairab, praised the growing role of the Council of Ministers and its support to SSWA and the changes that would meet the aspirations of the expatriates, pointing out that the transitional government plays a pioneering role in setting policies for the expatriates in line with the aspirations of the revolution and to address the failures that accompanied the performance of secretariat in the past years.

He said that SSWA is aware of the needs of expatriates and that it is working on fundamental reforms through a plan that addresses all shortcomings and provides investment and housing opportunities for them in all states of Sudan.

The consultative forum, which is held under the supervision of the Minister of Cabinet Affairs, is attended by the Governors of West Kordofan State and the White Nile State and the Secretary-General of the National Fund for Housing and Reconstruction besides representatives of housing authorities and investment institutions in the states of Sudan.
