May 16, 2021

(SUNA) - Prime Minister Dr. Abdullah Hamdouk indicated that the Paris conference aims to affirm Sudan's strong and deserving return to the international community.

'We are going to Paris to provide foreign investors with investment opportunities in Sudan,' Hamdouk noted in a press statement carried by Al-Hadath channel today.

He added: 'Before we arrive in Paris, we agreed to deal with the debts of the World Bank and the debts of the African Development Bank, and in Paris we will agree to deal with the debts of the International Monetary Fund, and thus we will start the debt relief process because Sudan, with IMF certification, will be fully qualified to benefit from the Heavily Indebted Poor Countries (HIPC) initiative.”

PM Hamdouk pointed out that Sudan's participation in the Paris conference is not to collect grants and donations, but to affirm the return of the strong and deserving country to the international community.
