Ministers of Health and Culture and Information Take Oath

Khartoum, Feb. 17 (SUNA) – The federal Minister of Health, Dr. Omer Mohamed Al-Najib, and the federal Minister of Culture and Information Hamza Al-Baloula, were sworn in Wednesday before the President of the Transitional Sovereignty Council, Lt. Gen. Abdul-Fattah Al-Burhan, in the presence of the Prime Minister, Dr. Abdalla Hamdouk, and the Chief Justice, Neimat Abdalla Mohamed Khair, and the Secretary General of the Transitional Sovereignty Council, Gen. Mohamed AL-Ghali Ali Yousif.

The Minister of Health, Dr. Omar Mohamed al-Najib, said in a press statement after the oath ceremony that he bears the burdens of the Ministry of Health at a critical time of the era of the revolution, explaining that health is the pillar of the country's development, and that its issues are multiple and complex, especially at the current time when the country is facing coronavirus pandemic.

He said that his ministry will give a special concern to combating the coronavirus pandemic, referring to the need to provide the vaccine, increase the examination capacity and to protect the health personnel working in this field so that they can provide a safe service to citizens.

The Minister of Health affirmed that all efforts will be made to rehabilitate the emergency departments in the country's hospitals and to provide the primary health care that represents the backbone of the health process, adding that his ministry will work with the competent organs to enact legislations that guarantee the right of citizens for health and treatment, in addition to the participation of citizens in managing their health affairs through the formation of public local health boards.

Meanwhile, the Minister of Culture and Information, Hamza Al-Baloula, has affirmed his commitment to serve the people and to work for success of the transitional period’s programs.

He pledged to cooperate with all the institutions, media men and intellectuals for achieving the goals of the glorious December revolution and implementing the transitional government programs for realizing democratic transition.

He declared his readiness to cooperate with the free press to carry out its mission and role, stating that his ministry will give a special concern to the Sudanese antiquities and the tourist attractions.
