US Export-Import Bank’s President to visit Sudan on January 7

Khartoum, Jan. 3 (SUNA)- The President of the Export-Import Bank of the United States (EXIM), Ms. Kimberly Reed, is to visit Sudan on January 7, heading a high-level delegation.

Director of the American Affairs Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Ambassador Maha Ayoub told the Sudan News Agency (SUNA) that the American official would meet during the visit which would follow that by the US Secretary of Treasury, scheduled for Jan. 6, with the Prime Minister and a number of other ministers of the government.

She added that the visit by the President of EXIM Bank, which is the main government bank that operates in the fields of international credits, would discuss reintegration of the Sudan into the international banking system besides other economic issues pertinent to the work of the American bank.

Ambassador Ayoub indicated that the visit by the President of the US EXIM bank would open the way before dealing with the Sudanese government’s institutions in the field of development projects.
